The basketball should be clearly spherical, rough skin or leather or synthetic material that facilitates the players take it with sweaty hands. Traditionally it is orange with black lines, but there are many variations. The indoor balls (covered pavilion) and outdoor (outside) differ in material which are coated.

Used for three different sizes depending on the size and weight categories: the number "7", used for men's basketball, the "6" for women's basketball, and "5" for mini-basketball and preinfantils (children usually 8 to 12 years).
